Peter Snell wins second gold in Tokyo


On the 21st of October 1964, Peter Snell's time of 3 minutes 38.1 seconds was 2.5 seconds better than the world record held by the previous Olympic champion, Herb Elliott. The field for the 1500 m run was led by Michel at the start. He fell back after about 400 m and for about 200 m there was a pause. Then Davies took the lead, with Peter behind him, fluctuating between second and third place.
