Chief Justice declares treaty 'worthless' and a 'simple nullity
The Treaty of Waitangi was ‘worthless’ because it had been signed ‘between a civilised nation and a group of savages’ who were not capable of signing a treaty. The judge did not take any notice that the land belonged to the Maori people and still did not give the land back. The people wanted to build a school on the block of land but they had to put a church in the place.
