Erebus disaster
In 1979, there was the Mt Erebus air crash.They were on there way to go sightseeing Antarctica. 237 passengers were on board at the time and nobody survived. The plane crashed into some of the lower slopes of Mt Erebus. A national Erebus memorial will be unveiled in Auckland in 2020.
